Siren Song

A quick drawing, a long exit. Heading up to RI for a bit, but got me a new computer to work on, so I'll be posting what I can. So long NYC, take care of my peeps for me.

Iron Will

Iron Will, the steel lumberjack with a heart of gold. I'm still working out the design.

All Together Now

Last one, I promise. I combined all the bounty hunters from The Empire Strikes Back into one piece. Here's Boba Fett, IG-88, 4-Lom, Dengar, Bossk, and Zuckuss striking a pose before being dispatched by Vader to capture Han Solo. Don't worry, everything works out in the end.

Bossk

The sixth, and final bounty hunter: Bossk. He's big, he's mean, he's a lizard man thing who needs a pedicure. There you have it.

Sure, It Won't Eat Your Flesh, But Did They Consider This Scenario?

In response to this press release.

For Menis.

IG-88

Here's IG-88. Unfortunately, Flash crashed while working on a textured bg and now I believe the file is corrupted. I will present a new IG-88 with a background soon.

Kind Of Okay Comics #022

Another strip from Rex Tarkleton. Yay. Hope he's having a better summer than I am, and judging by his new wounds, I'd guess yes. Sigh.

Dig-It-Bot

The Dig-It-Bot can dig it, sucka. Can you?

Weird Things Found On Work Computer: Pop-Eyed Anime

Oh, like other weird posts on this blog, I present weird Brendan anime I found in a random folder. I come across these random things I sketched here and there during downtime at work (or unpaid late nights), but what caught my eye was the tiny Joker rendering to the left of the piece which I kinda dig. So here's some whatever.

Zuckuss

Zuckuss is an insectoid bounty hunter from the planet Gand, where findsmen like he use the force to locate their prey. He's also holding a thermal detonator, just so you know.

Kind Of Okay Comics #021

Rex Tarkleton, comic strip genius and angry hobo, has decided to settle down in a little house with a white picket fence. Rex has been dreaming of this moment for a long time and I guess has found the means to make it a reality. The only snag in his plan is that the current occupant and owner was not too keen on the idea. I guess crawling through his open window to tell the homeowner of his newly domestic intentions at 3 in the morning didn't help Rex too much. Better luck next time, Rex. In the meantime, as Tarkleton returns to the mean streets, enjoy his latest strip.

Steve Buscemi As St. Michael The Archangel

Weird idea? You bet. I don't know why, but I wanted to do a series of Buscemi caricature/portraits combined with an orthodox icon representation of patron saints. So why not start with Michael, God's right hand man? I'm sure Steve Buscemi could pull that role off (oh, wait, that one went to Travolta).

4-Lom

4-Lom overrode his original programming as a protocol droid on a luxury liner, work he found uninteresting , to become a master thief and bounty hunter. Word. Push the envelope.

Kind Of Okay Comics #020

Rex is on a roll and delivered a new strip. The esteemed Mr. Tarkleton has promised some more work as soon as he regains his sight. Apparently he devoured a bad batch of oatmeal raisin cookies he had been fermenting under a radiator. Don't ask, because I'm just as curious and uninformed about his process as you are, but I guess the last cookie cluster packed a wallop. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

Kind Of Okay Comics #019

In the sticky, summer heat of New York City, Rex Tarkleton made his way towards me through the dense, hazy air to give me his latest strip. Rex was looking pretty good despite the wretched, oppressive weather and I asked him how he was beating the heat. He replied that he was living in a department store window, posing as a mannequin so as not to alert the management to his presence. I think it's pretty ingenious, eluding the staff in such a way for that many hours a day, especially in an all-women's clothing store. But I'm willing to bet that the vision of Rex Tarkleton in a short tennis skirt, centered in the main window is having a negative effect on sales for said clothing store branch. But what do I know about fashion? Thanks for the comic, Rex, and stay cool!

Dengar

As promised, here's the next bounty hunter. This handsome fella is Dengar, who has a mad-on for Han Solo. Plus he has a sweet bandage hat. Tres chic. Maybe 4-Lom is next...

Boba Fett

Because I was feeling Star-Warsy, here's Boba on the prowl. He's a cool cat who was on the screen for less than five whole minutes in Empire, but nonetheless, became a cult-favorite character. Stay tuned for more bounty hunter action, like a depiction of, oh, I don't know.... Dengar. And yes, I say he's cooler than Fett, but not as cool as IG-88.

Assassination: Doughnut! Preliminary Character Design And Background Sample

I've been toying with this idea lately that has been rolling around my head for awhile, but I'm having a few problems getting it going. What else is new? Above are the three main characters involved. Ambassador Donut has been dispatched to America for a peace accord in hopes to patch up US/Donutopia relations, soured after a recent, tragic police action, lead by a shadowy US agency, in Donutopia. The Ambassador is accompanied by his ever-faithful aide, Jonah J. Jellifild, a meek and nervous fellow. Unfortunately for Mr. Donut, mysterious forces are at work to see that relations stay strained and an assassin has been dispatched to do away with the ambassador. The whole gag here is that the assassin is having a tough time killing the ambassador due to the large hole in the middle of the target's body. So, a sniper shot tends to pass right through him and strikes poor Mr. Jellifild, who of course, bleeds jelly. I'm coming up with more gags related to this theme. Comedic gold. Sigh.
