OHOTMU: Arabian Knight

My first entry for Jon Morris' "The Official Handbook Of The Marvel Universe: Reduxe Edition", a project for which Jon invited a plethora of artists to redraw some entries of characters featured in Marvel's deluxe handbook from the mid '80s.  It was slim pickings when I was finally able to join in, but I started with the first neglected character in the alphabet.  More to come.

The Case of the Stolen Superpower! Name a comic book character and then give that character the powers of another comic book character. Batman with the Flash’s power, Wonder Woman with Black Canary’s power, etc. Idea courtesy of our own Yukinori Xum.

A follower on twitter, Ecovore, suggested "Streaky the Supercat with Aquaman’s fish-talking powers."  It tickled my fancy and gave me a chance to get more cartoony.

Muh Fancy Squawkin' Timepiece

For this week's (5/24/12) The Line It Is Drawn, the broad topic was:

In honor of the late Tony DeZuniga, come up with ideas for drawings starring his most famous creation, Jonah Hex (which he created with writer John Albano), in some fashion.  Team-ups, mash-ups with films, TV shows, paintings, video games, Jonah Hex doing mundane tasks, whatever you'd like!

A follower on twitter, dc2omniverse, suggested "mash up Jonah Hex and Dick Tracy."  I'm a big fan of Jonah Hex and was upset when I heard Tony DeZuniga had died.  He was an amazing artist and paved the way for the Filipino comic artist invasion of the '70s.  RIP Tony.
