I Cornered The Amazing Spider-Man... On Christmas, No Less.
I submitted this puppy to the Cornered blog for a little Christmas whatevers. I should have flipped the piece and made sure the anatomy was okay as the neck and head are oddly off center. If you didn't notice, sorry I ruined it for you.
It's a take on the Christmas-themed corner by Todd McFarlane from Amazing Spider-Man 314, published April, 1989.

I Cornered The X-Men #1
I sent over a couple of X-Men cover "corner" illustrations to Jon Morris at the Cornered blog. This is a rendition of the corner art from X-Men #1, September 1963.

STAR SPANGLED CORNER: I Cornered CAPTAIN AMERICA

Here's a quickly rendered piece sent into Cornered for the 4th O' July, which I'm posting here a bit late. I hope everyone enjoyed their Independence Day, fighting tyranny and injustice and Nazis like the good Captain above would want you to. But let's face it, Nazis are hard to come by nowadays and all you really did was eat hotdogs, swill beer, and throw fireworks at the squirrels. Sigh. I am currently working on some new pieces, five of them, which I'm including with a bunch of older stuff for a show in Annex Comics' windows at the end of the week. If you're strolling down Broadway in Newport, RI, take a gander. I will post them on the blog here starting Friday, hopefully.

I Cornered NAMOR THE SUBMARINER... Twice

Another piece submitted to the great blog, Cornered, where artists reinterpret the spot illustrations that appear on comic book covers. Check it out for some really great pieces.

I Cornered THE BLACK PANTHER (And I Got Scratched!)

This little beauty I drew up and submitted to the blog Cornered, a blog dedicated to the spot illustrations located in the top left corner of comic book covers, typically found on the covers of Marvel Comics over the years. Calamity Jon Morris runs the site and invites artists out in the blogosphere to submit their rendition of their favorite "corners". I chose the Black Panther from Jungle Action #9, published in 1974. The Panther had an amazing run on that title for a good three years, and I highly suggest picking it up. You should all check out the other amazing works at this fantastic blog.
