Wolverine Killed The Video Star

For The Line It Is Drawn May 2nd, 2025:

A classic Line theme we haven't done in a few years (so our newer Liners haven't had a chance to draw it yet) - comic book characters in classic music videos

Bluesky follower @johnnyunusual.bsky.social suggested: Talking Heads - Once in a Lifetime (Wolverine)

Spider-Mans

For The Line It Is Drawn June 5th, 2023:

In honor of the new Into the Spider-Verse, suggest an alternate dimension Spider-Man (it can be an anthopormorphic animal like Spider-Ham, or really ANYthing, honestly).

Twitter follower, Johnny Unusual (@JohnnyUnusual) suggested Jazz Spider-Man! Ted Dahlman (@TedDahlman) suggested Spider-Blob (the X-Men villain).

Dark Side Of The Bifrost

For The Line It Is Drawn May 8th, 2023:

I keep losing track of this one, it's so popular that I try to spread it out to every 50 Lines. I'm a bit late on it this year, but the theme is comic book characters on famous music album covers!

Twitter follower,  Werehawk (@werehawk1) suggested Heimdall on Dark Side of the Moon.  Check out the other Liners album covers here!

Born In The USA

From The Line It Is Drawn, August 14th, 2020:

I somehow missed doing this last year (when I stopped numbering the Lines, it was hard to keep track of stuff like this that I did every 50 installments), so maybe I'll do two of them this year! It's an old Line favorite! Mash-up comic book characters and a famous music album cover!

Twitter follower, werehawk1 suggested: Captain America‘s ass on Bruce Springsteen born in the USA

Saturday Night's Alright For Fightin'!

From The Line It Is Drawn, May 24th, 2019:

In honor of the release of Rocketman, the idea is to name a comic character (or characters) and an Elton John song lyric that you'd like to see our artists interpret as a drawing featuring said character(s).

Twitter follower JohnnyUnusual suggested Power Man & Iron Fist "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting."

From The Line It Is Drawn, Week 328:

It’s that time of the year again! Music album covers homages! So suggest comic book characters on famous music album covers.

Twitter follower, tobiasholst suggested: Cyclops on Bowie’s Heroes.  We miss you, Bowie.  And you, too, Slim.

Born To Bat

From The Line It Is Drawn, Week 261:

This month, Marvel is doing a series of special Hip Hop homage covers. So the theme is to suggest a comic book character and the cover of a famous hip hop/rap album

Twitter follower, KeithAlanMorgan, suggested: Batman & the Batmobile – Too $hort, Born to Mack.  Gotta go old school on this one with my favorite version of the car: the Barris-built Batmobile from the 1966 TV show.

Metalwülf!

Brendan Smith, one of the creators/writers of this pilot posted this link on Facebook the other day.  Metalwülf was a show the studio I was working for had done for Mtv back in the day (2003 maybe?) and one in which I handled a lot of design on.  It's hard to look at some of the art direction and character design I was in charge of, as well as the Flash animation cheats and all, but overall, it was a fun and rewarding project that could have been cool had it been given a shot.
